Expand/collapse blockMove block Information for course "Teenagers/Young Adults"
Description: After receiving your TESOL/TELF certification, you may want to specialize your teaching in Teenagers and young adults. This course teaches teachers the appropriate teaching styles and techniques that are most beneficial to when they are teaching the not so young student. This course will help you to stay current as to what the average English language learner teenager’s learning style requires in the classroom. You will learn techniques and tips that can used to help keep the learner’s participation going in your class from start to finish. This course can be completed in as little as two weeks and you will benefit from the 50 hours of classroom time.

Prerequisite: Due to the advance pace and terminology used in this course, in order to register for this course you will need to have completed a 100-hour or more TESOL/TEFL certification program.
Objectives: It is increasingly more important for teenagers and young adults to learn English. Their future depends on it. However, it can be difficult to reach out to people of such a young age and teach them the importance of knowing English as a foreign language. A basic TESOL certification is a great way to understand the information that needs to be taught and how to organize that information, but if you are planning on teaching children, only the Teenagers and Young Adults ESL specialization course can help you to narrow in on the most effective ways to teach these young people.

The Teenagers and Young Adult ESL specialization course was designed specifically to give teachers an inside look into how teenagers respond to different learning techniques and how to create momentum in a lackluster class. The course objectives for this program are:

• Identifying the problems that most teenagers face while learning English and resolving them.
• New teaching techniques that respond better to teenagers and young adults than to other age groups.
• Integrating these new techniques into your teaching plans.
• Creating a new series of classroom management skills to effectively manage the classroom situation with teenagers and young adults.
• Hone in on your ability to evaluate students.
• Learning more classroom dynamics, icebreakers, etc for an optimum English learning experience.

With these objectives fulfilled at the end of your TESOL course program, you will be able to efficiently teach young adults and teenagers English as a second or foreign language.
